Ally McCoist to take over as Rangers boss

Ally McCoist - will replace Walter Smith

Ally McCoist will become manager of Glasgow Rangers at the end of the season, the club have announced today.

McCoist, a Rangers legend after scoring 251 goals for the club as a player, will take the reigns from current managerWalter Smithwhen he leaves the club.

McCoist has been Smith’s assistant since 2007, and was a part of the clubs run to the UEFA Cup final in 2008, when Rangers were beaten in the final of the competition by Zenit St Petersburg.

Furthermore, he took charge of team affairs for the entire Scottish Cup campaign in 2008, when Rangers beat Queen of the South in the final.
