Jermain Defoe has picked up an ankle injury to further increase the injury worries within the Tottenham Hotspur squad.
Harry Redknapp’s side are currently taking in a five-day spell of warm-weather training in Dubai.
But Defoe, who has previously missed eight weeks this season with ankle ligament damage, broke down injured yesterday.
“Defoe has an injury again” said Redknapp.
“He’s had a problem with his ankle before and it didn’t feel too good.
“We’re trying to finish in the top four and it’s so close, but we’ve got so many players injured.
“We’ve got Tom Huddlestone, Younes Kaboul, Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate, Gareth Bale, Rafael Van der Vaart.
“If you could pick a team of injured players it would be a fantastic line-up.”
The striker has struggled to find his best form in the Premier League this season, and has been playing second fiddle to the pairing of Peter Crouch and Rafael van der Vaart for the majority.
