FIFA to ban Snoods

Marouane Chamakh - Will no longer be able to wear his snood

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has decided to ban players from wearing snoods.

The neck-warmers have certainly been in vogue this season with the likes of Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, and potential Premier League Player of the Year candidates Samir Nasri and Carlos Tevez all big fans.

“There was not even a discussion because this is not part of the uniform and it can be dangerous,” the FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, said.

The ban will come into force from the 1st of July.
