Arsenal duo tweet after bad night in Barcelona

Arsenal midfield duo Cesc Fabregas and Jack Wilshere have taken to social networking website Twitter to give their thoughts on last night’s defeat to Barcelona, and to thank the Arsenal fans for their support.

Fabregas and Wilshere: Looking to the remainder of the season

Arsenal skipper Fabregas, not 100% fit, captained his side through 75 minutes against his boyhood club, but was deeply disappointed with his display and apologised to the clubs fans for his mistake which lead to Barcelona’s opening goal.

The Spain international tweeted: “Great support from the arsenal fans. I take full blame for the result. One of the worst moments of my life. I apologise”

Young England international midfielder put in another tigerish midfield display against the imperious Barcelona duo of Xavi and Andres Iniesta, and his two individual performances throughout the tie will have only helped his burgeoning reputation on the continent.

Wilshere also praised the Gunners fans, and insisted that the season is far from over, whilst also giving his sarcastic approval to match official Massimo Busacca.

“Arsenal fans great as always! Sorry about the result, good luck to Barca, great team! Oh yeah and the ref was good aswell….We have to pick ourselfs up now…win saturday and then keep going strong in the league….still could be our year!”

Good to see how grounded both players remain.
