Ashley Young ‘delighted’ to be at Manchester United and looking for the 20th title

Ashley Young, the England winger who yesterday completed his move from Aston Villa to Premier League champions Manchester United, has said that he is “delighted” to have arrived at Old Trafford, and is looking to help the club procure its 20th league title.

Ashley Young, has become United's second summer signing

25-year-old Young penned a five-year, £120k per week contract after passing a medical on Wednesday and is looking forward to playing for “one of the greatest clubs in the world.”

Speaking to MUTV, Young said that he is looking forward to making history with United and to prove himself at the club.

“It is surreal, but I am delighted to be here,” said Young, who is believed to have cost a fee in the region of £16m.

“To come here and play with such great players and have the chance to be part of a team that hopefully wins the 20th title would be amazing. The prospect of playing for one of the truly great clubs was one that I always looked at as a child and now that I am here I have to take the opportunity with both hands.

“United have that winning mentality and for myself as a player I have always wanted to be the best I can be. To come to a club like this you are always going to have challenges. I want to win titles and hopefully I can be part of that this time.”
