Roger Johnson bound for Wolves

Roger Johnson - Birmingham defender seems all set for a move to Wolves for £7m

Birmingham City central defender Roger Johnson looks set for Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £7m deal.

Johnson held talks at Molineux with senior Wolves officials on Monday afternoon, as a deal which would make him Wolves highest-paid player – in the region of £35,000 per week – was offered to the former Cardiff City and Wycombe Wanderers defender.

The Blues hierarchy had originally been looking to secure a fee in the region of £12-14m for Johnson, who was impressive in Birmingham’s two Premier League campaigns, despite last years relegation.

Nonetheless, after Johnson looks likely to be back on the Premier League stage with Wolves come August, with a deal likely to be penned on Tuesday or Wednesday, with Johnson penning a four-year deal at Molineux.
